Drums and cymbals. Ringo heaven!

Vox amps defined the early Beatles sound. Very cool! Penrose Lane has authentic 'Beatles' guitars and other equipment. We also have 'Strats' and 'Tele's' as used in the later period. Vox amps, Ludwig drums and even some old vintage microphones from late 50's to early 60's round out our equipment inventory.
We also have just received a vintage Hammond Leslie. The Beatles used the Leslie in their later period (I Want You She's So Heavy). It is a true piece of rock history and very much in keeping with our commitment to keep early rock and roll alive in the most original way possible. You will definitely want to come check out these cool instruments at our next gig!

Vox amps from approximately the "Cavern" period.

This image shows our authentic set of Ludwig drums (the same color as Ringo's) made in 1964. Not reproductions or imitations.

Penrose Lane backline at a large outdoor stage summer 2000. Outdoors we set up so we can move lots of air! Various 4 X 12 cabinets are used from both Fender and Marshall. This is typical of Penrose Lane backline guitar setup outside if room isn't a problem. Other photographs on this page show a smaller setup for clubs etc.

When a good band sets up there is an exciting feeling in the air!

Penrose Lane performs all of their songs live. No sequencing or 'harmonizers' etc.
Randy's stage guitars are usually authentic to the time period such as Rickenbacker, Epiphone Casino and (depending on gig) a large headstock late 60's and a small headstock early 60's Fender Stratocasters. The members of Penrose Lane have a wide variety of guitars to get authentic looks and tone for the sets we are going to do. The guitars are run through 'authentic to the time period' amplifiers.
